Prostate cancer is a common disease within men with over 40,000 cases being diagnosed every year in England with up to 9,000 deaths per year attributed to this disease. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
During the pandemic, we are acutely aware of the challenges we all face with ensuring staff are kept up-to date with all patient safety essential training and we must do things very differently. Our main priority is to ensure the safety of all of the candidates and faculty, while maintaining a high quality educational standard.

In January 2019, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published their report on Springfield Hospital, following their unannounced inspection of surgical services and paediatrics in December 2018, and has rated Springfield Hospital ‘good’ overall.
Over 100 nominations were received for the East Region Health Care Awards. After difficult judging three finalists were selected for each of the ten categories, and these finalists or finalist teams were invited to a celebratory dinner.
