Springfield Hospital celebrates top patient outcomes in UKWednesday 28 October 2015

Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford, has achieved top outcomes for hip replacement surgery.

The hospital was ranked fourth in the whole of the UK for primary hip replacement surgery in the Patient Recorded Outcome Measures (PROMS) data published annually by the NHS Partners Network. PROMS compromises both private and NHS hospitals within the UK and asks patients to complete questionnaires before and after their surgery on their health and quality of life before and after operations.  The recently published results are for surgeries performed between April 2014 and March 2015, the results of which are designed to improve the quality of care for patients.

The hip service at Springfield Hospital is consultant-led with patients seeing the same consultant from their initial consultation and diagnosis through to surgery and post-discharge care. Surgeons are supported by a fully-equipped diagnostic department offering onsite MRI scanning, x-rays and ultrasound, and work alongside a team of musculoskeletal physiotherapists to help patients return to full mobility as quickly as possible.

Springfield Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, welcomes both insured patients and those choosing to pay for their own treatment.  The hospital offers consultations, investigations and treatment in most specialties including endoscopy, gastrointestinal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, oncology, women’s health, men’s health and ophthalmics as well as specialist services such as cosmetic and weight-loss surgery.
