Mr Munawar Hussain is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (RCOG) accredited sub-specialist in reproductive medicine and minimal access (Keyhole) surgery. He was trained in London and Bristol and has 20 years of clinical experience with wide range of expertise. Mr Hussain is an expert in managing menstrual irregularities (heavy, painful periods), Chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), menopausal and HRT (BMS accredited specialist), recurrent miscarriages, fibroids uterus and male & female infertility. He is an RCOG accredited laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgeon and hold RCOG and BFS certifications to perform gynaecology and obstetrics ultrasound scans. He is able to provide surgical management of complex benign gynaecology conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and pelvic adhesions. Mr Hussain is an expert in investigating and managing heavy menstrual bleeding by using various medicines (hormonal/non hormonal), Mirena coil, endometrial ablation or laparoscopic hysterectomy as a last resort. He performs laparoscopic (keyhole) hysterectomy, laparoscopic removal of ovarian cysts, pelvic adhesions, endometriosis, and hysteroscopic surgery for the removal of polyps, resection of fibroids and uterine septum. He also performs abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies and surgery for the correction of utero-vaginal prolapse. Moreover, he provides expert care to couples finding it difficult to conceive a baby either due to male or female causes. He manages male fertility problems (low sperm count or other sperm problems) and female infertility (PCOS, anovulation, tubal blockage, fibroids uterus and endometriosis). As an RCOG certified specialist in Reproductive Surgery, he is an expert in surgically repairing and reopening of the blocked fallopian tubes to help to achieve a natural conception. Mr Hussain holds a Masters Degree in Reproduction and Development with Distinction from Bristol University. My research in gynaecology and reproductive medicine led to several international presentations and publications in reputable journals. He is actively involved in training at regional level through Health Education East of England and at national level with the Royal College of Obstetricians Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society. His active involvement in research and training ensures that his patients receive the most up-to-date care.
