His Phil degree from Cambridge University was supported by a Wellcome Trust grant and scholarship from the School of Medicine, Cambridge University. Mr Pimenides later completed his PhD. He is the director of the cornea, external eye diseases and refractive surgery in Mid Essex and the Medical Advisor for Ophthalmology at Springfield Hospital. Mr Pimenides was the Ophthalmology Clinical Lead at Mid Essex Hospitals from 2011 to 2013 and received clinical excellence awards.
